Botulinum Toxin Injections, often referred to by the brand name of 'Botox', are a popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment used to temporarily reduce or eliminate wrinkles and fine lines in the face.

Commonly referred to as ‘Botox’, Botulinum Toxin is injected into a specific muscle causing temporary weakness/relaxation of the muscle and improvement of the wrinkles that the muscle action has formed.
Botulinum Toxin treatments may not be right for all patients. It cannot remove every facial line or wrinkle. It has no effect on static wrinkles, which are not due to repetitive muscle activity.

Less commonly, temporary droopiness of your facial features can occur. In rare instances, serious problems can develop, such as breathing difficulties.

Some people may not wish to undergo wrinkle reducing treatments.

The alternative therapies include, but are not limited to, dermal fillers, dermabrasion, medical-grade peels, prescription-strength vitamin A products, lasers and surgery. There is also the option of embracing your wrinkles and folds, doing nothing to alter their appearance.
